🧀 Ingredients

Servings: 4 Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 25–30 minutes Oven Temperature: 475°F

  • 4 cups raw turnips

  • 4 tsp olive oil

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper

  • ¼ tsp nutmeg

  • ⅛ tsp cayenne pepper

👩‍🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F.

Prepare a large, rimmed baking sheet.

Step 2: Prepare the Turnips

Wash and peel the turnips, then slice them into approximately ½-inch wedges.

Try to keep the wedges similar in size so they roast evenly.

Step 3: Season the Turnips

Place the turnip wedges on the baking sheet.

Drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with cayenne pepper, nutmeg, salt, and black pepper.

Toss until all the wedges are evenly coated.

Step 4: Add the Parmesan

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the seasoned turnips.

Gently toss to distribute the cheese evenly.

Step 5: Roast Until Golden

Arrange the turnip wedges in a single layer, leaving a little space between each piece.

Roast for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until tender and golden brown on both sides.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy!

Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly.

Serve warm as a delicious alternative to traditional potato fries!
